Exploring personal therapeutic modes of storytelling, Harris uses the medium of oil painting to discuss suicide, trauma and mental health. His visual language is filled with surreal landscapes, creating pseudo-narratives that follow a semi-autobiographical character, named Happy.

Harris aims to accessibly approach the topic of mental health through an archetypal lens, exploring the many complexities of the subject, transforming the characters’ experiences into a playful and universally approachable symbolic journey. The mythological journey of Happy extends into a multi-narrative comic book.

In this fantastical series of paintings, you find references to video games and contemporary culture, depicted in neon hues. These cues harmoniously coexist with traditional art symbolism and techniques, as well as a mythological framework.
